Types of snow chains

• Iron chain

It is actually a steel chain. This kind of iron chain is widely used. It is also a traditional anti skidding device for automobiles. It is cheap and easy to install. However, the tire is severely worn, because the iron chain exposed on the tire surface is free to move forward and backward, except that the front and back sides of the tire are fixed by steel wires. In the process of anti-skid, the iron chain, the ground and the tires move each other, causing the tires to be seriously injured. Some people look like files.

This kind of iron chain has simple trapezoid and diamond shapes. The use effect of rhombic is better than that of trapezoid. Since the fixed points of the iron chain of rhombic are more than those of trapezoid chain, the tire wear of rhombic is less. This kind of iron chain is gradually replaced by cow tendons and rubber chains.

• Rubber chain

The shape of this rubber chain is basically similar to that of the tauren chain, except that the rubber used is of good quality and can have a strong tension. In addition, the tension resistant nylon wire is arranged in the rubber. Just like tire manufacturing, nylon wire plays the role of tensile resistance and reinforcement, and steel nails on rubber play the role of anti-skid.

• Cow tendon anti-skid chain

It is a mixture of PVC, PP and PT. When opened, it looks like a scarf. There are several diamond patterns in the middle and several steel nails on it. It is easy to install. Just lay the anti-skid chain on the ground, slowly drive the car up, and then fold it up and fix it on the driving wheel.

It also has a beautiful appearance. However, due to the manufacturing process, this kind of anti-skid chain can only be used on wheels less than 235. The key is that the greater the friction between the tire and the ground, the greater the friction between the tire and the ground, which is easy to tear. It is recommended to use 175-195 for small cars.

Precautions for use of snow chains

• The anti-skid chains are divided into different sizes, which are suitable for different wheel hub sizes and tire widths. When purchasing, you should pay attention to selecting the anti-skid chains that match the wheel sizes.

• The anti-skid chain must be installed on the driving wheel and the tire pressure must be normal. It is not allowed to install the anti-skid chain on the wheel with low tire pressure. After installation, stop the vehicle for inspection and adjustment after driving about 20 meters to ensure that the anti-skid chain is closely fitted with the tire.

• After installing the anti-skid chain, the car should keep running at a low speed, generally not exceeding 40 km/h, and pay attention to avoid sudden acceleration or emergency braking as much as possible.
